Tasting notes
Yunnan Golden Buds is grown in Lincang, Yunnan, from Menghai Daye bushes and withered and sun-dried. This is the 2026 spring flush.
In the cup it reads stone-fruit and cocoa, with a medium roast and high caffeine. Brew 4g in 150ml of 95°C water for 3 minutes, and the leaf will give three good infusions.
We buy this lot direct from the people who make it and name the village it comes from. Nothing is blended across farms, and nothing is held in a warehouse overseas — the tea is packed at origin and shipped in small batches.
Brewing guide
Black tea takes near-boiling water and a medium-length steep. Gongfu style gives a cleaner cup than a mug; western style, steep three minutes and remove the leaf completely.
