A tray catches what a gaiwan spills. Slatted or drilled, it lets the water through and keeps the table dry between pours.

Rinse and dry it after each session. Bamboo left wet will mark, and the marks do not come out.

Nothing here needs oiling or sealing — use it, dry it, and it will outlast the teaware sitting on it.
