Tasting notes
Ripe Puer Tuo Cha 2018 is grown in Menghai, Yunnan, from Menghai Daye bushes and pile-fermented. This is a 2018 lot, aged since it was made.
In the cup it reads marine and cocoa, with a heavy roast and low caffeine. Brew 6g in 120ml of 100°C water for 15–20 seconds, and the leaf will give eight to ten good infusions.
We buy this lot direct from the people who make it and name the village it comes from. Nothing is blended across farms, and nothing is held in a warehouse overseas — the tea is packed at origin and shipped in small batches.
Brewing guide
Puer needs a full boil and patience. Rinse once, then steep short and build up. Ripe puer opens faster; raw puer rewards longer sessions and improves across many infusions.
